Helen Tederous named NFTA's new Public Affairs Director

Helen Tederous has been named as the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority's new Public Affairs Director. In her position, she will be responsible for development and implementation of NFTA's comprehensive communications strategy and objectives. She will also assist in providing direction to protect and enhance the organization's mission to deliver the best in class public transportation for Western New York.

Before coming to the NFTA, she served as Vice President of Corporate Communications for KeyBank. While there she held pivotal leadership roles in both business and community communication initiatives, including the First Niagara/Key acquisition which converted over one million customers.

Helen also brings to the authority over two decades of experience in the media, as a producer, anchor and reporter in television and radio. She worked for 12 years at WKBW-TV, the ABC affiliate in Buffalo, and WBEN-Radio. Helen holds a Bachelor's of Science from Brockport State College and has served on boards for both Buffalo Prep and Every Woman Opportunity Center.

Helen lives in East Amherst with her husband Jack and their two sons Matthew and Ryan. In her spare time she enjoys yoga, hiking and reading. Please join in welcoming Helen to the NFTA.
