NFTA Police Brighten the Holidays for Needy Children

Once again this year the NFTA Transit Police and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County teamed up to make the holidays a little brighter for some needy families in our community.

As a unit, the department collected over $3,000, and working with BBBS went shopping to purchase items from lists provided by the families for gifts they did not have the ability to provide to their individual families.

Tim Sugrue crossed the street

Timothy Sugrue has joined NFTA’s Service Planning department in the role of Data Analyst. He worked across the street at NITTEC as a Transportation Engineer for the past six years. He received both his bachelor of science in civil engineering and his master of science in transportation systems engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Metro Launches New Vehicles

Metro introduced its new line of compressed natural gas vehicles on Tue. Jan. 12, at a an unveiling at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. The buses, PAL vans and supervisor vehicles take advantage of new CNG technology, allowing Metro to use less gasoline, and put less pollution into the air, without compromising our quality of service.
