Lieutenant Porter Recognized for his Service

NFTA Police Lt. Jason Porter was recognized by the Western New York Chapter of ASIS International for his professionalism, leadership and dedication to duty at their recent 42 Annual Law Enforcement Luncheon at Salvatore’s Italian Gardens. 


Lt. Porter, a graduate of the 2010 FBI National Academy, has been a member of the NFTA Transit Police Department since 1998.  Over the past 18 years, Jason has demonstrated the ability to be a strong leader within the department.  

Some of his exceptional qualities are his ability to handle administrative responsibilities such as the overall managing of manpower levels for the aviation division and at times of need, devising detail scheduling for atypical situations.  In addition, he continues to properly supervise his platoon and guide his officers in an exceptional manner.                                                                                                                                                   

Jason has received specialized training in conducting internal affairs investigations.  He approaches these often difficult situations with dedication and a touch of compassion ensuring a fair and just outcome.          
             
He is recognized as an excellent mentor.  As the senior lieutenant in the aviation division, he ensures his fellow officers are well briefed in the art of first line supervision, a responsibility he takes very seriously.

Overall, Jason was recognized for his outstanding ability as a well-structured, first line supervisor. He possesses the skills to take control of any situation and overcome obstacles allowing him to complete his task with a positive outcome.
 
Jason and his wife Christie reside in Hamburg with their two children.
