Meet the new Manager of EEO / Diversity Development

Stephanie J. Calhoun has joined the NFTA as Manager, EEO/Diversity Development. She comes to us from the New York State Attorney General’s Offices where she served as Assistant Attorney General. Stephanie also worked with the Erie County Department of Law in the EEO Department, giving her wide knowledge of equal employment opportunity and affirmative action issues, in addition to experience working with government agencies.


Stephanie graduated cum laude from Medaille College, with a degree in criminal justice, and earned her Juris Doctor from SUNY Buffalo Law School. She serves as the current chair of the Bar Association’s Minority Outreach Committee. An active member of the Minority Bar Association of Western New York, she has severed as president and secretary of the association and chaired many committees.

When she’s not practicing law, Stephanie has been helping others to do it. She is an adjunct law professor at SUNY Buffalo Law School, teaching “New York Administrative Law.” She mentors students from Medaille College’s TRIO Alumni Mentoring Program. She is a past recipient of the Buffalo Business First Legal Elite and awardee of their 40 Under 40. In 2015, Stephanie also received the United States District Court, Western District of New York Federal Court’s Pro Bono Award.

Buffalo is home to Stephanie, her husband of ten years, Jamar; and high-spirited five-year old, Elijah. Some of her interests also include: fashion, reading, cooking a good meal for her family, and going to the movies.
