NFTA Transit Police Befriends Children from Big Brothers, Big Sisters
During the game, the boys had a chance to learn more about the sport from their escorts, as well as share common interests and have some laughs with the officers. Big Brothers, Big Sisters is an organization that supports 1-to-1 mentoring relationships to assist children challenged by issues such as divorce, bullying, educational and career matters, as well as just general day-to-day youth concerns.
Alicia Bartsch from Big Brothers, Big Sisters said that she is extremely grateful to the NFTA Transit Police for their support and said, “The children had an incredible time at the game and our staff was impressed with how amazingly well the officers interacted with the kids. It’s funny, but a simple outing like this can have such a positive impact on young and impressionable minds. We would like to give a special thanks to Lt. Jim Halliday and Officer Mike Davies for their help in coordinating this event and their planned participation in future mentoring activities with our organization.”
