Day of Caring is a Way of Sharing

Once again, as in years past, volunteers from the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority stepped up to help their neighbors by participating in the annual United Way Day of Caring August 20.

Our team of hardy workers rolled up their sleeves, put on their work gloves and pulled together to help Habitat for Humanity of Buffalo - a non-profit agency, refurbish a home on Rhode Island Street on Buffalo’s westside.

Throughout the day they performed various jobs including painting, installing drywall, prep work for an outside deck, in addition to mixing and pouring cement.

All of the volunteers to the person said they worked hard, but enjoy the day. As a result of everyone’s toil, owning a home will now become a reality for a local family.

Nice job: Sinclair Fabor, Sam Nevilles, Bill Moran, Tom Danner, Michael Mingo, Ken Rush, Steve Harkiewicz, Donna Danner, Annmarie Kelley and Teresa Justinger.
