And the job goes to… Nick Kurtz

On his first day as an Intern in the Communications Department at the NFTA, Nick was asked to assist with a group of children participating in Metro's Sounds of the Season Program. Without hesitation he did what was asked and all with a smile on his face. Since then, Nick has gone on to tackle many projects of a significant nature, and for the past year has worked part time in the Human Resources Department.

Nick has obviously proved himself to be an asset to the NFTA because on April 7, he was hired full time as the newest Human Resource Coordinator. Nick is known by many of his colleagues for his dedication on the job, but also for his easy going nature and great sense of humor.

Nick graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Medaille College in May of 2013, and was the sole recipient of the Communications Department award which honors students that academically excel within their field of study. Nick also received the Mike Rozman scholarship, which recognizes students with high academic merit.

Although he kept his eye on the primary prize of obtaining his degree while attending Medaille, something else caught his eye as well. Nick met his girlfriend Leah of three years during his sophomore year of college, and one day they hope to marry. In his spare time, Nick plays soccer for the Buffalo District Soccer League and coaches children ages 4-18 years old.

Nick credits his father Klyde who works as the Regional Vice President of the Regis Corporation, for his acquired work ethic. "I watched my father work hard and push himself professionally every day as I was growing up, and I truly admire him for all that he has accomplished." Like his dad, Nick hopes to be just as successful along his career path.

Congratulations Nick, we wish you all of the best.
