Business First honors Christine Farrow

Christine Farrow, NFTA's Superintendant of Special Services, who recently celebrated her sixth anniversary at NFTA, has been named one of Business First's Forty Under 40 honorees for 2013. This prestigious award recognizes young professionals' outstanding career achievements and devotion to community involvement. Christine was nominated by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County.  The 22nd annual award ceremony will be held on November 7 at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.

In addition to Christine’s extraordinary commitment to her position at NFTA, she is also a Board of Director for the Big Brothers Big Sisters/Be-A-Friend Program Inc. as well as a mentor. Christine also sits on the Rehabilitation Counseling Program Advisory Committee for the University of Buffalo Counseling, School & Educational Psychology. Further, she also works part time in community habilitation at Summit Educational Resources.

Christine is also in the process of pursuing her Ph.D. in Counselor Education from UB and anticipates graduation in spring 2014. Her dissertation focuses on the career decision-making patterns of college students with high functioning autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities and college students without disabilities. Christine has also been an adjunct instructor at the university since 2011. Christine's previous roles include Substance Abuse Counselor for Cazenovia Recovery Systems and Employment Counselor for Phoenix Frontier, respectively.
