The NFTA’s Black Achiever for 2012

This year, the Authority celebrates Public Safety Record Specialist Christine Herring as a 2012 Black Achiever.

Christine began working at NFTA in 1985 as a clerk to the Chief of Police. However, in 1990 due organizational budget constraints, Christine’s job was eliminated and she left the company for two years. During this time she worked at Key Bank in the Home Equity loan department but was hopeful that she would eventually go back to NFTA.

In 1992, as good fortune would have it, Christine returned to the NFTA police department and assumed a position as Public Safety Record Specialist. Christine also graduated from Empire State College in 2010 with a degree in Human Services. She is truly an asset to the department and is well known for her extraordinary work ethic and drive to excel. George Gast, the NFTA Chief of Police said, “Christine is by far one of the hardest working, most dedicated individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. She is an indispensable part of our department.”

The Black Achievers Awards are sponsored by 1490 Enterprises Inc. Congratulations Christine – we are proud to have you on the NFTA team!
