Our new Director of HSEQ

Timothy P. Carvana has joined the Authority as Director of Health, Safety and Environment Quality. He comes to us after five years at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, where he managed system safety and environmental programs for one of the largest transit systems in the country. Prior employment includes four and half years as an environment and engineering development planner at the Fulton County (GA) Board of Commissioners. During his tenure at MARTA, he established environmental programs for managing their underground storage tank systems, hazardous waste generation, remediation of contaminated sites and the implementation of an industrial management plan. In addition, he developed industrial and occupational programs geared toward the reduction in lost-time injuries and exposure to hazardous materials. In 1995 he earned a Bachelor of Science, Environmental Science degree from North Carolina A&T University, Greensboro, NC and in 2004, a Master of Public Administration & Environmental Management degree from Troy University, Troy, AL. He will be relocating to Buffalo with his wife and two children.
