A new Chairman

The New York State Legislature confirmed Howard A. Zemsky’s appointment by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo to become the next Chairman of the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority.

Chairman Zemsky has served on the NFTA Board of Commissioners since 2008. A noted developer, the chairman’s accomplishments include among others, the rehabilitation of the Larkin District Building. He has also lent his expertise to the Richardson Complex, the Frank Lloyd Wright Darwin Martin House Restoration Project and is also co-chairman, along with UB President Satish K. Tripathi of the Western New York Regional Economic Development Council.

“I am humbled by the governor’s nomination and at the same time excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for the authority. Working together with the board of commissioners and staff, I foresee the NFTA making great strides in taking care of our customers transportation needs as we work collaboratively going forward,” Zemsky said.
