Veterans of the Greatest Generation Travel to D.C

The fifth Honor Flight to depart the Buffalo Niagara International Airport left Saturday, Sept. 17 with 26 World War II veterans and their guardians onboard to visit the service memorials in Washington D.C.

Honor Flight Buffalo, one many national chapters, raises funds through donations in order to provide veterans with a free plane trip to our nation’s capital where they tour the various service monuments, especially the World War II memorial.

The local organization is spearheaded by the tireless efforts of sisters Jo Anne and Lisa Wylie, who started the Buffalo chapter in honor of their dad, a World War II veteran.
